Filed in Music Notes... on Feb.22, 2011
Barbara Coston has just released her new CD, Bible 101
This CD was recorded at Music Box Studio in Hamilton, NC, and features Barbara teaching the books of the Bible using a light hip hop rhythm. The CD has been well received by the public and Barbara has plans for more releases including a proposed radio series, "The Daily Scripture."
Best of luck to a very talented and determined lady.

It is silly to imagine that the web is a huge unfavorable impact on the record companies .

Amen to that my brother! It is very possible for someone to have a “hit” in the music world and never actually produce a physical product. With the new services, ie: CDBaby, iTunes and all the others, your music can be around the world in a matter of moments. To top it off, an entire music production company (or record label) can now be located in a very large closet or a spare bedroom. And how about promotion or getting the music out to the radio stations. The way it used to be is that a promo man visited each and every station that they wanted airplay on and hand delivered the new release. Some radio stations now only want you to “e-blast” or email an mp3. Hey, no postage, packaging… it green, green, all the way!

Good afternoon, just needed you to know I’ve added your blog post to my Google bookmarks as a consequence of your extraordinary blog layout. But seriously, I do think your blog has certainly one of the freshest themes I’ve run into. It really makes reading your blog less complicated.

Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your thoughts? I mean, what you say is important and everything. But its got no punch, no pop! Maybe if you added a pic or two, a video? You could have such a more powerful blog if you let people SEE what youre talking about instead of just reading it.

OK Rapmonster… you’ve got me! Please bear in mind that I’ve recording and producing records for many years but I’ve just begun to get into this blog thing. I’m going to assume that by your email address that you are a rapper. How about sending us your pix and a brief snippet of some of your material and a story about your music and career. We’ll be glad to post it. Hey, how about a link to one of your videos? Do try to keep it a bit on the “clean” side. We’re looking forward to hearing from you. BC
