Barney Conway is a Grammy and Dove nominated engineer and songwriter/producer and performer who has worked with celebrities including Little Richard, Curtis Mayfield, Phil Collins, Sam Phillips (Elvis Presley), and others as well as Columbia Records, ABC Records, WTBS TV and NBC's Tonight Show Orchestra.
In the radio industry, he has been a staff announcer and chief engineer with radio stations such as WIAM, WITN, WGST (between 1961 to 2006). On the Television side he's been a successful announcer, anchor, voice-over artist and host for WTBS TV (now called CNN). Barney Conway formed his own production firm, and owned a state-of-the-art mobile television production facility leading to gigs with luminaries including Wolfman Jack.
Conway's core technical competencies have given him the skillset to build recording studios, dismantle and rebuild recording consoles, increasing the available number of tracks (as he did with a Sugarhill Records console), and work with the intricate electrical circuitry of numerous radio station, TV studio, remote broadcasting and music production studio equipment.
Globally recognized firms and artists he has worked with include Libra Sound, Capitol Records, Mainstream Records, IX Chains Records, Atlanta Sound Studios, Sun Records. Little Richard, Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, Three Dog night, Doc Severinsen & The NBC Tonight Show Orchestra, Tommy Stewart, Jim Croce, Donna Fargo, Marty Robbins, Calvin Arnold, Tommy Stewart, Stevo, Parliament/Funkadelic, Jimmy Spice Curry, Fats Domino, Yes, Phil Collins, Blue Oyster Cult, Mahavishna Orchestra, The Atlanta Symphony, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Classics IV, The O'Kaysions, The Commodores, and many others have worked with him also. Recently he completed negotiations for his composition and performance, "Get A Full-Time Job" for use in a motion picture being filmed in New York, "Gun Lordz," written and directed by Jimmy Spice Curry. Plans are in the works for collaboration between Curry and Conway for some upcoming projects.
